NIU offers flexible graduate programs in biology education research such that students may focus solely on BER or integrate BER along with research in biology. Student would construct their own experience to potentially include coursework in biology, education, and/or psychology and have teaching opportunities. Students would join a DBER community that includes Anatomy, Geology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math.

Qualifications:  

• Completed Introductory biology courses  
• Committed to around 10 hours per week for the whole semester  
• Interested in this work!

I am recruiting undergraduate students to help facilitate the large-enrollment Fundamentals of Cellular Biology (BIOS 208) course for Spring terms. 

Qualifications:  

• Successful completion of the introductory biology courses.  
• Interest in helping students succeed!  ​

Preferred qualifications:  

• Successful completion of genetics, cell, and molecular biology courses.  

Responsibilities:  

• Engage students during lecture (3 hours/week)  
• Participate in meetings (1 hour/week)  
• Grade coursework (about 2 hours/week)  
• Compensation:  BIOS 490 Internship credits (3)
